Summer Interns Always Bring Energy, Sometimes Good Voices

Summer Interns Always Bring Energy, Sometimes Good Voices

Each March, when I begin the staffing strategy for the intern program, I get excited about having the students here at Cartus. The interns always come in full of life and fresh ideas and bring a great energy to Cartus. For example, at our company picnic, one of our interns entertained us at the karaoke show by singing “I Want it That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. The audience, including many of his fellow interns, gave him a standing ovation. It was great to have him take part in the festivities.

This year we have more than 30 interns—the majority of whom began their internships at the beginning of June. Over 30% of our interns are returnees from last summer. A majority of them are working in Real Estate Services and Client Services. (more…)

Expert Use of the Virtual HR Team Qualifies Cartus as a Stevie Award Finalist

Expert Use of the Virtual HR Team Qualifies Cartus as a Stevie Award Finalist

I am proud to say that the Cartus Human Resources team has been recognized as a finalist for a Stevie Award, presented by the American Business Awards. Amy Meichner, senior vice president, global human resources, and I represented the team at the ABA’s 9th annual banquet on Monday, June 20 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 200 companies with more than 600 representatives attended this event.

In April 2011, I received an email from the American Business Award Association, inviting Cartus to submit a nomination for a Stevie. Over the following days, I found myself dwelling on the opportunity to nominate HR for an award. The Cartus Human Resource team had just completed the successful integration of a newly acquired company, Primacy, in less than a year—an accomplishment that would be ideal for submission under the category of “HR Team Award.” (more…)

See What I Mean: Supplier Relationships Are Central to What We Do

As the person who leads the Cartus Supply Chain Management group, I have an opportunity to work with a wide range of suppliers, all of whom help us provide trusted guidance to employees being moved to San Diego, Stockholm, Shanghai, and thousands of points in between. The commitment that Cartus’ supply chain network managers and these suppliers have made to delivering high-quality service is extraordinary, and we value the relationships that have developed between us.

At our last Global Network Conference, we asked some of our suppliers to record their thoughts on working with us. From that footage, we created five videos, each focused on a specific topic, to share with members of the Cartus community. These feature overall comments on working with Cartus, Cartus’ technology, communication with Cartus, Cartus’ performance management, and the Cartus partnership.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to illustrate the power of the Cartus network and provide a view of an important part of our business.

With Realogy Award, Cartus’ Northrop Proves that 2010 Was a Very Good Year

With Realogy Award, Cartus’ Northrop Proves that 2010 Was a Very Good Year

I recently had the opportunity to take part in a ceremony honoring one of Cartus’ own, Shelley Northrop, vice president, marketing. Shelley was presented with the Corey Thomas Realogy Communications Award of Excellence. Realogy presents this award to a member of the greater Realogy communications team who exemplifies the excellence, passion, creativity, and commitment that best supports his or her company’s interests.

Joining me at the presentation were Kevin Kelleher, Cartus CEO and president; Amy Meichner, Cartus’ senior vice president of global human resources; Mark Panus, Realogy’s senior vice president for corporate communications; who presented the award, and the Cartus Marketing team.

Mark noted that Shelley took a tremendous amount of responsibility during 2010, leading a number of projects on a global scale related to the merger of Cartus and Primacy, including the highly successful company culture and rebranding initiatives for “the New Cartus” that captured the very best of both organizations and clarified Cartus’ leadership position the industry.
