One of our own, Bruce Perlman, senior vice president and general counsel, recently scored the cover story of the July issue of MOBILITY magazine. His topic? The amusingly titled article is called “Short Sales and Clawbacks and Lies—Oh My!,” and that is the magazine’s clever way of drawing readers to a serious subject: the plight of potential transferees who are upside-down on their mortgages.
Bruce presents several scenarios that might yield an “out” to a transferred employee who has mortgage difficulties, but he focuses primarily on the ins and outs of short sales. He highlights terminologies such as no-flips and clawbacks—provisions frequently referenced in short sale letters. He also talks about what the future may hold for those who find themselves in this position. The article is both highly informed and highly entertaining—a lot like Bruce himself!
