Ottawa is lovely this time of the year, and I’m going to have a chance to see it when I make the trip from Montreal to attend the Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC) Conference October 21-23 at the Westin Hotel. The theme of the event is, “Seize the Power of Mobility in the Age of Talentism.” Human resource professionals anticipate that there will be a talent shortage in the near future, and Cartus is working with its clients doing business in Canada to prepare for it. Other discussions on the agenda that are of particular interest to me are candidate selection and development, Canada’s economic immigration system, the challenges of remote locations, and global housing trends.
