As the impact of the Hurricane Sandy-related storms is being assessed, we will be releasing updates on issues affecting our clients and their transferring employees.
Cartus’ Danbury, Connecticut, USA location is operating under emergency business continuity procedures for Tuesday, October 30. Cartus employees are retrieving voicemail messages, and returning calls as they are able. Cartus expects this facility to return to normal business operations as of Wednesday, October 31. In the interim, urgent issues affecting transferring employees are being directed to our Irving, Texas office for immediate response.
Additionally, below is a short summary of other status updates as they relate to the impact of Hurricane Sandy:
1. Many household goods companies are shut down for deliveries in the impacted region, but all are attempting to contact customers to reschedule pick-ups and deliveries at this time.
2. Cartus is working with local providers to assess homes/inventory and will advise each client, as appropriate.
3. Other major suppliers (immigration, temporary housing, destination services, etc.) are functional and processing requests/orders, communicating with Cartus, and contacting transferring employees as necessary.
4. Close to 16,000 flights have been cancelled as a result of the storm, and travelers are expected to reach their destinations by the weekend.
We will continue to reach out with updated information as it becomes available. In the interim, please contact your dedicated Cartus representative with any specific questions.
