Relocating to Emerging Markets | Issues in Talent Management, by Cartus Consulting

This is the second of a two-part series in which Cartus Consulting looks at the top talent management issues that companies are facing in emerging markets. The first post was published on Sept. 17, 2012.

Who are companies sending on assignment to emerging markets—and how do they measure success?

Emerging markets pose unique challenges, such as being in remote and non-traditional locations; language and cultural differences; and, in many cases, a lack of infrastructure. Costs can be higher, challenges greater, and the pressure on assignees more intense.

These obstacles, coupled with the ongoing challenges associated with talent management, are also leading many organizations [...] Read More

Shadovitz also highlighted our recent [...] Read More

What’s Your Global Mobility Plan for 2012? This May Get You Started

When it comes to workforce mobility, every year seems to bring a new buzz word, phrase, or hot topic that everyone latches on to (or thinks they should because everyone else does). Sometimes that worries me, because in our Consulting practice, we always want to make certain that organizations carefully consider all factors before they decide to follow the pack. Just because something is right for one organization doesn’t mean it will fly in another.

One of this year’s hot topics revolves around “tiering.” Although it is true that every organization is different, this particular concept can actually deliver results, as [...] Read More
