Operations at national ports in South Africa (Durban, Cape Town, and East London) are at a standstill due to a national strike by approximately 50,000 workers of the state-owned rail and port operator, Transnet, Ltd. This includes rail system service from the port to inland terminals within Southern Africa. While negotiations are taking place between the parties, we do not have an anticipated resolution date. Cartus frequently hosts onsite vendors who offer a wide range of items, such as books, baked goods, and jewelry. But our recent Pet Fair was a first! Vendors included kennels, daycare services, animal welfare agencies, groomers, boutiques, spas, vets, and other pet suppliers. In anticipation of this unusual event, a pet photo contest was also held, with the winning owners awarded $25 gift cards to Petco.
